DIY Wednesdays: Halloween Light Up Pumpkins

October 31, 2018

Hi Risers! Happy Halloween! Hopefully y’all are ready for some thrills and chills this evening, whether it’ll be spent with your children or just cuddled up on the couch with the fire going and a slasher flick on. My personal favorite? Scream. You can never go wrong with a horror parody.

This Halloween, Megan (@mbridges86) is showing us how to make the cutest light-up pumpkin stack. Thanks so much Megan!

·      Step 1: Buy 6 plastic pumpkins
·      Step 2: Cut the bottoms and handles off of each one.
·      Step 3: The hole on the bottom is approximately 5 to 6 inches across.
·      Step 4: Hot glue them together as you stack them.
·      Step 5: Once stacked, put a piece of PVC in the middle.
o   The holes on the bottom can vary in size depending on how big your pipe is.
o   I used a weighted piece of PVC on the bottom, so I didn’t have to worry about that.
·      Step 6: After the PVC, put the rope lights down through the end pumpkin.
o   I used an 18ft strand of white rope lights.
·      Step 7: Cut a hole in the back of the top of pumpkin to stick the plug end through.
·      Step 8: Put the witch’s hat on!
o   Make sure to leave about 8 inches or so of PVC out of the top of the pumpkins to hold the witch’s hat.

And that’s all folks! Super simple and easy and absolutely adorable and perfect for this Halloween!

With love,
 Rise. Run. Soar.
