Ways to Healthily Curb Your Sweet Tooth

January 27, 2019

Hi, Risers! We aren’t sure if it’s the cold weather or if it’s because Valentine’s Day is around the corner and chocolate is constantly being thrown in our faces, but our sweet teeth (or tooths? We don’t know) are out. Of. Control. And when you’re on a diet or getting ready for a show or working on your body at all, sweet things are the devil. So, we are here to bring you some healthy ways to curb your sweet tooth!

Paola (@risepaofit) loves a good pancake. So, why not create a healthy pancake?

·      What you need is 6 egg whites and a scoop of protein powder.
o   Mix the egg whites and protein powder
o   Get your pan ready with non-stick spray
o   Pour the mix onto the pan, flip whenever it starts browning
o   Add toppings, like bananas and cinnamon.
o   Warm up 1 tbsp of natural peanut butter or almond butter and drizzle over your toppings

And you’re all set! You now have your own healthy pancakes!

Danielle Thomas (@dkt19xx) likes to treat herself, once a week, to a serving size of dark chocolate and a cup of strawberries.

All you have to do is melt the chocolate in the microwave for about a minute and you have yourself a dark chocolate dipping sauce for your strawberries.

Chase (@chasecoe) seems to have the biggest sweet tooth of them all.

Anything gummy goes. Found at the local GNC, Smart Sweets creates low-sugar and zero fat gummies that will satisfy even the biggest of sweet teeth. The gummies only have 3g of sugar per bag! While high in carbs, Smart Sweets is still an incredibly healthy way to curb your sweet tooth.

And now, let us move on to protein cake.

We have a couple exciting things for you! Protein cake is all the rage these days and we have a couple different ways to get it.

Lil’ Buff Protein is freakin’ delicious and so healthy that you will not even believe! When we tried it… wow… it was so hard to not eat the entire thing. And it’s so easy, too!

First, mix together one serving of the protein cake mix, 1 egg white, 1 cup of unsweetened apple sauce, and 1/8 cup of almond/cashew milk. Next, put it in a microwave-safe dish. You can either bake it for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees or microwave it on full power for 2-3 minutes. We baked it, and it turned out amazing. We even put Nuts ‘n’ More Birthday Cake high protein peanut spread on it as icing.

The cake is nice and moist and literally so scrumptious. And if you order $20 or more worth of Lil Buff Protein through this link, you’ll get $3 off!! Trust me. It’s absolutely worth it.

If you want to try a different protein cake, check out Andrea’s Protein Cakery. It’s pretty much the same thing and we have a special offer for you: 15% off your order if you use the code “RiseFit15.” You can check out Andrea’s Protein Cakery by clicking here!

Next, we have Nuts ‘n’ More, like mentioned earlier. Now, beware, because this stuff is lethal. But, seriously, you have to be careful because it is a higher fat peanut butter, so make sure you don’t eat the entire container in one sitting. It’s high protein and low sugar, though, which is great for a little snack after you work out! We tried Toffee Crunch, Birthday Cake, and Cookie Dough. All of them are to die for!

You can order these online by clicking here or by visiting your local Vitamin Shoppe!

Last but not least, ice cream! Enlightened and Yasso are our go to brands. Enlightened ice cream is delicious! It’s going to be a higher fat per serving, while Yasso is a frozen greek yogurt, thus being more low-fat. Both are amazing, though. You just have to pick whichever brand fits your lifestyle!

If you guys have any healthy sweet treats that you love, please let us know!

With Love,
Rise. Run. Soar.
