Q: Why did you start Blissful Blooms Floral?

A: As my passion for flowers grew, it became inevitable.

Q: What made you leap to follow your dream and subsequently, leave your career?

A: I started by doing small events and wedding floral in my free time as I continued with my original career as a HR Benefits Administrator/ Payroll Specialist. After a few years of this, classes, practice, self-training, and working as a Florist, I decided to take my faith to the next step. Although I had a savings account to fund this new adventure, I did not quit my job. I worked both until my original job at Thyssenkrupp Bilstein gave me an ultimatum that I could not accept. They requested that I return back to the office working first shift vs second. Unfortunately, I had to run my business first shift and could not meet their obligations.

Q: What would you like to do in the future for Blissful Blooms?

A: I am considering options at this time which include building a Floral shop in Monroe with space for a greenhouse, etc.

Q: If you can go back now, knowing everything you went through to follow your dream and passion, would you do it all over again?

A: Yes; however, it was an extremely tough process.

Q: What advice would you give to other women who are wanting to take that leap and follow their dream?

A: Educate yourself, know that you may not be compensated for some time, the first year is the worst, have a plan, know that you may be your only support. Believe in yourself and don't give up unless you've tried everything and have given it enough time to work.

Q: Lastly, what is a good plant that even a person who lacks a green thumb can keep alive?

A: There are many. Although Peace Lillies are beautiful and flowering, Sansevieria (Snake Plant or Mother-in-law’s Tongue) is a hardy indoor plant that will survive almost anywhere and doesn’t require much water.

Thank you so much Bianca and Blissful Blooms Floral for sitting down with us and being the best Girl Boss you can be!

            Until next time…

With Love,
Rise. Run. Soar.
